Graphic Design Business Coaching
You love designing, but managing a business? Not so much.
Whether you’re building your studio from scratch or trying to make your existing business run more smoothly, I’ll help you design a structure that supports you. Together we'll build systems that save time, help you become more profitable, and build your confidence.
Meet Your Coach.
I’m Matt Wolf, founder of Wyndetryst Graphic Design Studio and the rare designer who geeks out over systems, strategy, and efficiency.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve built my studio from the ground up and worked with more than 100 clients across a wide range of industries. I’ve handled just about everything from pricing and proposals to hiring, firing, managing personalities, and creating systems that actually work. I’ve learned how to stay profitable, balance creative and business demands, and navigate all the real-world challenges that come with being your own boss. And did I mention, all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance?
I’ve always been a bit of an odd designer, the one who loves the business side just as much as the creative. While many designers dread talking about money, systems, or strategy, that’s always been my favorite part. I get genuinely excited about helping creatives understand how to run their businesses efficiently, profitably, and with confidence.
Alongside running my studio, I also teach design students at Temple University as an adjunct professor, helping the next generation of creatives understand the business side of design. Mentoring is something I genuinely love—it’s where I thrive. This coaching practice is a natural extension of that passion: sharing my experience, helping people avoid common pitfalls, and giving them the tools and confidence to build businesses they’re proud of.
I’m approachable, easy to talk to, and I bring equal parts honesty, humor, and heart to every session. Think of me as your creative business guide, with a few good stories, lots of hard-earned wisdom, and a genuine desire to see you succeed.

Do you love graphic design but hate running a design studio?
If you’re like most creatives I know, you love the creative part but you wish running your business felt as easy and fun as designing.
You’ve got the creative side down, but the backend of your business...that’s the part that keeps you up at night. The invoices, the project tracking, the client follow-ups, it all feels like too much. But with the right systems in place, it doesn’t have to be. You can have structure and balance, and I can show you how.
No one starts with everything figured out. What matters is having the right systems to guide you forward. I’ll help you organize the chaos, simplify your workflow, and design a business that supports your creativity.
Let’s start creating your systems together.

Matt stepped in with exactly what I needed: tailored tools, streamlined workflows and strategic clarity that allowed me to feel less overwhelmed and run my business with confidence. If you’re ready to move beyond the “ideas” phase and build a structure that supports your artistry, his coaching is a must."

Frequently Asked Questions
Starting or running a design business can feel like juggling a hundred moving parts. You’re constantly switching between client work, proposals, invoices, and emails, and before long, your creative energy gets buried under admin chaos. A coach helps you step back, see the big picture, and build the systems that make everything run smoothly.
Working with a coach isn’t just about motivation; it’s about strategy and structure. You’ll get personalized guidance from someone who’s been there—who has built a profitable studio, managed clients, hired and trained teams, and created repeatable systems that save time and increase profit. Together, we’ll turn what feels scattered into a clear, repeatable process so your business supports your creativity instead of draining it.
Investing in coaching now can save you years of trial and error, not to mention thousands of dollars lost to inefficiency and missed opportunities. With the right systems in place, you’ll work faster, make better decisions, and create a more sustainable business that grows without burning you out.
Having a coach in your corner means you’re never figuring it out alone. You’ll get honest feedback, fresh perspective, and actionable steps that move you forward. Think of me as your creative business partner and systems architect—someone who helps you build the foundation for long-term success and profitability.
AI is an incredible tool. I use it myself and even teach my students how to use it strategically. But AI can’t replace the insight, perspective, and real-world experience that comes from someone who’s actually built and run a creative business. It can generate answers, but it can’t tell you which answers are right for you.
In our coaching, we’ll actually talk about how to use AI to your advantage to save time, automate repetitive tasks, brainstorm ideas, and even write smarter proposals or client emails. The goal isn’t to compete with AI, but to integrate it into your workflow so you can build your business faster, more efficiently, and with less stress.
Think of AI as your assistant and me as your coach who helps you decide what to delegate, what to refine, and how to keep your creativity at the heart of your work.
Perfect, that’s exactly who this coaching is for. You don’t need to have a single client, a business name, or even a clear plan yet. We’ll start from the ground up and walk through everything step by step, from setting up your business legally and financially to building your first portfolio pieces, pricing your services, and landing your first paying clients.
You’ll also get help defining your niche, crafting your story, and creating the foundation of your brand so that you start off looking polished and professional. My goal is to help you skip the confusion, avoid early mistakes, and gain the confidence to actually launch instead of just dream about it.
Think of this as your creative business jumpstart—the clarity, systems, and encouragement you need to move from “someday” to “I’m doing it.”
That’s great and honestly, it’s one of the best times to bring in coaching. Once you’ve got some momentum, the next challenge is usually figuring out how to scale sustainably without burning out or hitting a plateau. We’ll dig into where things feel messy or uncertain—whether it’s pricing, proposals, client communication, or juggling too many projects at once—and create systems to help you work smarter, not harder.
We’ll also explore how to refine your niche, set clearer boundaries, and start thinking more strategically about where your business is headed. Many designers find that after a few years, they’ve built something good—but not yet something intentional. My role is to help you bring clarity, structure, and confidence to that next chapter so your business works for you, not the other way around.
Not necessarily. While my background is in graphic design, these business foundations can apply to other creative professionals such as web designers, writers, illustrators, photographers, and more. I’d love to get to know you during a free coaching session to see if we’re a good fit.
This is a personalized, 1:1 coaching experience. No pre-recorded videos or cookie-cutter templates—everything is tailored to your goals and pace.
Your first 30-minute session is completely free, no strings attached. This initial meeting is our chance to connect, talk through where you are in your business. We'll determine if we are a good fit and uncover one actionable idea you can implement right away. You’ll get a feel for my coaching style and I’ll get a sense of your goals and challenges.
We’ll also discuss what an ongoing coaching plan could look like, whether that’s a few focused sessions to tackle specific challenges or a structured monthly program to build your business from the ground up. There’s absolutely no obligation, but most people leave the first call excited to keep going and building on the momentum.
Yes, flexible payment options are available. Just mention it during your free consultation.
Yes, but it’s the good kind. Every session ends with specific, actionable steps designed to move your business forward—whether that’s refining your pricing, drafting a proposal or setting up new systems. You’ll also get templates and tools to make the work easier and more efficient.
But let’s be clear: this coaching is for people who are serious about building or improving their graphic design business. That means showing up to each session fully engaged, open to feedback, and committed to doing the work between meetings. The magic doesn’t happen just on our calls—it happens when you take what we discuss and put it into action.
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and make real progress, I’ll be right there alongside you, guiding, cheering, and holding you accountable every step of the way.
Between sessions, you’ll have focused action steps to complete—whether it’s refining your offer, creating client materials, or implementing new systems. I’ll check in periodically to offer encouragement, keep you accountable, and make sure you’re moving forward. You can also reach out with quick questions or updates by email between sessions—I want you to feel supported and never stuck.
That said, this is a structured, professional coaching relationship. My goal is to give you the right amount of access and guidance without overwhelming you (or your inbox). For bigger questions or deeper strategic feedback, we’ll save those for our scheduled sessions so you can get the most value out of our time together.
Think of it like having a creative business partner in your corner—someone who’s available when you need clarity, but who also helps you stay focused and independent as you build your business.
